Xtrade review
Which common trading scams Xtrade's structure makes difficult, and which it does not.
Last checked
Xtrade runs the pattern that scam operations copy: heavy leverage, an offshore entity and very little published about who is behind it. That does not make it one, and it does mean the usual defences will not help you here. Regulated by Belize FSC (4705379); South Africa FSCA (FSP 44681); additional offshore entity, offering Xtrade WebTrader, Xtrade Mobile.

Check the licence on the regulator's own site, not on a link somebody sent you.
Xtrade's licence is offshore (FSC). Offshore entities typically offer higher leverage and lighter reporting, and compensation schemes do not apply - the trade-off is protection, not price.
The FSCA licenses derivative providers in South Africa without a fixed retail leverage cap, so headline leverage is often higher than an FCA or ASIC entity may offer.
An FSC licence (Mauritius or Belize, depending on the entity) is an offshore authorisation with lighter reporting duties than a tier-one regulator.
Check the licence yourself: the FSCA list of regulated entities.

An offer that beats the market by a wide margin is the most reliable warning sign there is.
Spreads from 1.0 pip suggest an all-in account, where the broker's fee is built into the price rather than charged separately. There is usually no commission on top, which makes the cost easier to predict.
Quoted spreads are best-case figures on the most liquid pair, in normal conditions. What you actually pay widens around news and at the session open.
Xtrade lists a minimum deposit of $100. Treat it as the cost of opening an account, not the cost of trading one - position sizing on a small balance is what tends to cause damage.

Leverage up to 1:400 is available on this entity. High leverage does not increase your expected return - it increases position size for the same deposit, and shortens the move needed to close you out.
Xtrade covers forex, shares, indices, commodities, etfs, bonds, cryptocurrencies. A wider range matters less than depth in the instruments you actually trade.
Funding options: visa, mastercard, visa electron, maestro, american express, discover, diners, bank transfer, cryptocurrency transfer. Check withdrawal routes as well as deposit ones - they are often not the same, and the difference only becomes apparent when you try to take money out.

Xtrade trades at xtrade.com. Anything on a lookalike domain is not the broker, however closely the page copies it, and a link that arrives in a message is the one worth checking character by character.
