What's being sold

A paid subscription to buy/sell alerts, often marketed with claims of a specific win rate or guaranteed monthly return, sometimes paired with screenshots of past "results" that can't be independently verified.

Why "guaranteed returns" is inconsistent with how markets work

No legitimate trading signal or strategy can guarantee returns - markets involve genuine, irreducible uncertainty. A guarantee is a marketing claim, not a property any real trading signal can actually have.

How results get faked or cherry-picked

Selectively sharing only winning calls, backdating "predictions" after the market has already moved, or running dozens of contradictory signal channels and only publicizing the ones that happened to be right in hindsight.

What a real signal service looks like, if one exists

Transparent, verifiable track records (ideally third-party audited), clear disclosure that past performance doesn't guarantee future results, and no pressure to act immediately or deposit through a specific, unfamiliar broker tied to the signal provider.
